For the most part, this year's show was pretty fun. On our first day, we did the Poker Run and drove all over, from Reno to Carson City to Tahoe then back to Reno. It was a really good drive for the cars, and in a way, the cool weather really helped because the cars didn't overheat. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the sixth stop in time, and we couldn't finish our *poker hands*. Since we will not be able to make it to next year's Hot August Nights, we were a little disappointed not to be able to finish the poker run this year.
The next day, a group of us drove up to Virginia City and had a blast going into the various shops along the main street and exploring some museums and historical sites. I always love visiting Virginia City because it is where my parents got married way back in 1972. We even visited the chapel in which they were wed, and G and I snuck a little smooch in there for good luck. We also took some silly old fashioned photos while there with three others in our group. I was pretty darn sexy with my ass hanging out of my costume when the clip holding together came undone ;)
The last day of our trip, we headed to G's dad's cabin in Tahoe and hung out with him for a few hours before driving home. Even though I am going to be drowning in work after all of the time I have taken off this summer, it has definitely been worth it.
Here is a picture of G's plastic engine cover to protect the engine from the rain, because his car does not currently have a hood:
